Join ESP Lunch & Learn: Growing global

For everyone

Want to travel and learn without taking a road trip or boarding a plane this month? If your answer is yes, then travel with ESP Lunch & Learn for Growing global: Lessons from Guatemala on Wednesday, Aug. 12 from 12:30 to 1 p.m.

On the “trip” you’ll hear from the group of colleagues who experienced Guatemala through Extension ‘s international professional development program last October. Members of the group will give a quick overview of their experience and then share their reflections. Come to learn and gain insight into the impact the experience has had on them professionally and personally.

Register to attend this session.

A Zoom link will be emailed to you after you register. This ESP Lunch & Learn opportunity is part of an ongoing series of 30-minute conversations showcasing the programs, projects, and people across the different disciplines in Extension and is sponsored by Minnesota’s Pi Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Phi (ESP).

Join ESP Lunch & Learn: Teamwork makes the dream work

For everyone

We invite you to join the ESP Lunch & Learn webinar on Wednesday, June 10 to learn from Katie Drewitz, local ANR Extension educator in Fillmore and Houston counties. Katie will share the "secret sauce" for how their team of horticulturally-focused local educators work together. She, along with a couple of other team members, will highlight their steps for success in keeping their team vital and focused, enabling them to design and deliver quality programs. Hear about why and how two of their programs, Gardening from the Ground Up and Garden Buzz, were created—and how they keep them relevant based on current research and the needs of their audience. This presentation will go behind the scenes to highlight practices for providing large audience webinars that have become a model other Extension programs have started to replicate! The session is on Wednesday, June 10, 12:30 - 1 p.m.

Sign up for MAE4-HYDP professional development day at YOUth & U

For everyone

As president of, and on behalf of the Minnesota Association of Extension 4-H Youth Development Professionals (MAE4-HYDP), I would like to personally invite staff to participate in this professional development opportunity being held in conjunction with YOUth & U.

The MAE4-HYDP education committee has worked hard to provide us with this great opportunity to learn from UMN Professor Theresa Glomb. Her presentation, Flourish: Evidence Based Strategies for Improving Your Work & Life, includes research highlights, personal stories and practical disciplines, woven together with rich examples.

Our time together will include a catered lunch, a welcome and introduction to the impactful work of MAE4-HYDP, a team building activity, committee time, and the speaker's presentation. We invite you to learn more about our organization and consider joining a committee to increase your involvement.

Learn more on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 12:30 to 1 p.m., from Joel Haskard, co-director of CERTs. Joel will share about Extension's role in the Clean Energy Resource Teams (CERTs) and then pivot to some potential funding opportunities for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in your communities.
