Colleagues,

As we prepare for the new fiscal year, it is an annual part of my work to build a budget for our department in partnership with Becky Harrington and Mary Ann Keddie. This annual process provides an opportunity to reflect on the breadth of our work, assess our impact, and align resources with department priorities to maximize our reach and effectiveness.

In May, we presented our budget to Dean Durgan, CFO Tamie Bremseth, and other Extension leaders. It is a meeting I look forward to each year because it highlights the importance of maintaining a clear strategic direction, demonstrating the impact of our work, and managing resources thoughtfully.

With strong support from Dean Durgan, we will be investing in some new programmatic and operational positions that will further strengthen our capacity, expand and deepen our impact, and enhance departmental operations.

I will share more information in the near future as we work with human resources to finalize the staffing.
